“Happy supermarket” slated to open for the poor next week

BTO – A nonprofit program, called “Happy supermarket” is expected to open soon as it has been lately put on the table. Accordingly, Vice chairman of the provincial People’s committee Nguyen Duc Hoa had document directing functional authorities and the People’s committee of Phan Thiet City to join hands in the program implementation.

Under the PPC’s consent, Vietnam IDJ Investment Joint Stock Company will take charge of the charity activity inside the campus of the provincial Library. The blissful supermarket consists of 3 stalls, including one selling foodstuff and essentials; one selling books and storytelling books; and the last stall selling clothes.

It is expected to run from 1 to 3 months, during the administrative time (from Monday to Friday, excluding Tet and Holidays). The supermarket serves for disadvantaged people. Each shopper may choose for themselves the five most essential products in a package at the price of VND 0 per time and a value of no more than VND 100,000 per time with a frequency of 2 weeks/time/person.

This is a meaningful activity that helps ease difficulties for vulnerable groups stricken by Covid-19 pandemic.
