Binh Thuan strongly reaches a new era of development
After the 45 years from liberation date, Binh Thuan has changed its face obviously from a poor province with dried season all year round to a new attractive destination for domestic and international investors. The locality has also found out its own appropriate ways to fully develop the world.
From an exhausted land with only sun and wind, Binh Thuan has now become a well-known “home” to dragon fruit of the country, an appealing tourist site, and a vision towards a national center of energy.
In the past recent years, Binh Thuan’s economy has upheld its momentum of growth with a record highest growth of 11.09 percent in 2019. The local economic development has maintained stably and positively, improving the local spiritual and material livings with an average income of VND43.6 million per capita in 2019. Moreover, Poverty reduction and social welfares are also taken into careful regards.
If the sun and wind and dried season had been a “knot” restraining Binh Thuan’s socioeconomic development, it is now a cutting-edge for the local envision towards a national energy center, majoring in solar power, wind power and off-shore wind power.
From 2017 to now, renewable energy has become a field attracting a lot of domestic and foreign investors, especially in the northern region of the province such as Bac Binh and Tuy Phong districts.
As of late 2019, the whole province has had over 100 projects registered for renewable energy investment (including 88 Solar power and 20 wind power projects), with a total capacity of about 6,800 MWp and a total investment capital of nearly VND 176 trillion.
Owned numerous beautiful beaches, mild weather, fascinating sightseeing landscapes imbued with indigenous historic and cultural identities, Binh Thuan has so far seized a bright spot on national and foreign travel maps. In which, Mui Ne has gradually created a strong power attracting international visitors by high-grade resorts. In 2019, the total tourist volume to the locality was estimated at about 6.4 million turns of visitors, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent.
Nowadays, Binh Thuan witnesses many changes as the provincial authorities have effectively exploited its advantages, potentials and accelerated the local economic growth. All efforts targets at building up Binh Thuan developed and high-level province in the southeast region.
