“Lady Sand Sculpture World Championship”, an international scale competition, is held by Viet Sand Art Limited company in Binh Thuan province, on the occasion of Binh Thuan liberation day (April 19th) and South Liberation day (April 30th). The presence of renowned sculptors promises to contribute wonderful performance and unique artistic works to Vietnam in general and in Binh Thuan in particular.
Despite stunning sun and wind of Phan Thiet coastal area in summer, 8 sculptors still keen on creation and decoration in an effort to satisfy sightseers. With clever hands, plain materials including red sand and water, the artisans have gradually depicted lively the fairy characters. The artisan has 12 days to complete her work before April 30th. Thanks to strong, smooth and easy-to-adhesive sand, some have been basically sculptured in a short time. Those are: The Lady going to the Moon, The long speech of the king, Ariadne, the thread of Love, Alice in wonderland, The peasant, the ox and the tiger, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, children of the fairy and dragon, the dancing monkeys.
To keep on completing infrastructure and creating green environment for sightseers, the company has invested in strong roofs for the statues and alleys, and planted green trees and flowers inside the park with the total cost up to VND 18 billion.
On the occasion of April 30 and May 1st, visitors will be entitled to 10 percent discount on entrance fees, from 7:30AM to 6:00 PM on April 19 to April 30. As scheduled, the organizing board will hold prize-awarding ceremony on May 1st at Forgotten Land- Sand Sculpture Park.
